“This is going to be quite shocking. Those Brits need to learn a lesson," Harry reportedly told a friend ahead of the March 2021 interview, as quoted by The Sun. The Duke of Sussex then accused the royal family of racism and that they ignored his wife's suicidal thoughts. The newspaper noted how tensions would rise in the days to come as the Netflix series commences this Thursday, December 8, and Harry publishes his biography 'Spare' in January 2023. The Sussexes are expected to level new allegations of racism in the docuseries, which is part of their rumored $100M deal with the streaming giant.

“Some of the comments made by Harry and Meghan are fiery," a source told The Sun. “If aired, they will be absolutely explosive. The topic of racism is discussed — plus claims that some royals opposed the marriage. The whole TV project is very driven by Meghan. The narrative is that Harry had to be removed from his family, in which he felt neglected. Mental health features too, and discussion about Harry having therapy over the loss of his mother and his father’s relationship with Camilla.”

The timing of the trailer's release was reportedly perceived by royal sources as a "cynical and deliberate attempt" to sabotage the Prince and Princess of Wales, Kate and William’s trip to Boston, centered around environmental causes. According to the newspaper, the brothers have barely spoken since the Oprah interview. The Queen dismissed their claims at the time, saying, "recollections may vary." Charles and William both tried to reconcile with Harry but were taken aback when he leaked their efforts to CBS News broadcaster Gayle King. Charles refused to take his son's phone calls for a year, and at one stage reportedly said, "I am not a bank."

MEAWW previously reported how the Sussexes have set 2023 as their "reconciliation year" and planned a PR change accordingly. "But our revelations today show that an easing of tensions is far away," The Sun reported, adding, "Harry was visited by his cousin Princess Eugenie in California. He has asked her to assist with his book but it is not known if she has had any role."  The upcoming Netflix docuseries is said to feature "commentary from friends and family, most of whom have never spoken publicly before about what they witnessed.” This comes amid reports that Meghan pulled out of an appearance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon that was due to air on the eve of the release.
