The absence of Vogue editor Edward Enninful might be the most shocking of all. He reportedly has a great rapport with the couple but isn't engaged with the project. Enninful pulled off a significant win when the Duchess of Sussex agreed to guest edit the magazine's fastest-selling issue in its history, Forces for Change, in 2019.

The late Princess Diana's close friend Sir Elton John is also not supporting the series, despite having previously backed the Sussexes. He reportedly welcomed the pair to his house in Nice, south of France, with his husband David Furnish. Prince William and Harry both consider Sir Elton to be their unofficial godfather.

David Foster, a music producer, would not be appearing in the series, a spokeswoman informed DailyMail. During the Megexit crisis, he became close to the couple and assisted them in finding a temporary residence in Canada before they relocated to California.

Both royal biographer Tina Brown and Omid Scobie, the Sussexes' favored journalist, are not involved in the project as well. The Daily Mail reports that sources have stated that Oprah Winfrey and the Obamas are hesitant to become involved in what they perceive to be a "family issue."

A spokeswoman for Earl Spencer declined to comment on the possibility of him or his sisters Jane and Sarah appearing in the show, despite the fact that reports indicate it is doubtful. There are unconfirmed speculations that Markle's mother, Doria Ragland, may appear even though she has never spoken on camera before.
