'Good old Harry fighting racism': Internet unearths pic of Prince Harry in Nazi uniform

The person, who tweeted the picture, wrote, "Good old Harry doing his bit for the fight against racism…" Another user wrote, "Nice to see Harry doing his bit for racism." A person, who looked like they were defending him, wrote, " And then he educated himself, left the family & their racist values & now fights racism. So no gotcha here dear," while another person added, "It was a 'bad taste' party. Hence why they are all dressed awfully! Not excusing it but that's why."

"And he got an award for fighting racial justice sickening," yet another person chimed in while one person shared a photo of the front page of a newspaper carrying the said photo with the headline, "HARRY THE NAZI." 

The photo was taken when the Duke of Sussex was attending a friend's costume-themed birthday party in January 2005. According to Harry, dressing up as a Nazi was "probably one of the biggest mistakes of my life," as reported by The Independent.

He later said he was "very sorry if I caused any offense or embarrassment to anyone," adding, "It was a poor choice of costume, and I apologise." At that time, a 20-year-old Harry was slammed, with the Board of Deputies of British Jews criticizing his "ill-judged actions." The incident is highlighted in the third episode of the Netflix series. Harry reportedly said, "It was probably one of the biggest mistakes of my life. I felt so ashamed afterwards. All I wanted to do was make it right."

Netflix released three episodes of Harry and Meghan's six-part docuseries on Thursday, December 8. The next three parts will be released on December 15.
