The biography also speaks about the Queen's extraordinary stoicism in her final months. According to reports, she revealed to a lady-in-waiting that she was determined to stay busy because it would help her deal with Philip's death. She reportedly did not want to resort to self-pity, adding, "My husband would certainly not have approved."

The book also claimed that the Queen experienced bouts of lethargy. According to the biographer, when the Queen felt so, she would pass the time by binge-watching the BBC thriller 'Line of Duty'. This follows news that King Charles has followed one of the Queen's final wishes by appointing six new members to the prestigious Order of Merit of the UK. They were personally picked by the Queen before she died, according to Buckingham Palace.
