‘Depressed’ Sam Bankman-Fried denied $250K cash bail offer after he begged for release from jail over vegan diet

Bankman-Fried's lawyer Mark S Cohen claimed, "Mr Bankman-Fried is reviewing the charges with his legal team and considering all of his legal options." He has been on antidepressants recently and during the hearing, he was asked if he needed water to have it. He responded, “I don’t need water, but I do need to take my shirt off to take them," reported New York Post. 

Chief Magistrate Joy Ann Ferguson-Pratt later issued the notice and claimed that she needed time to consider the arguments because “rushed justice is no justice at all,” and ordered to keep him under custody till February 8, 2023.

The charges also included campaign finance violations for his big-money political donations. The founder also has charges from the SEC. Bankman-Fried came to the hearing wearing a blue suit and white shirt and was supported by his parents, Standford professors Joseph Bankman and Barbara Fried. If convicted of all charges, he can remain in jail for almost 115 years.

" Another claimed, "Sam Bankman-Fried complains he isn’t “ right” for jail Bcs he is vegan Jesus Christ Let’s go ask the people who lost their savings how they feel about that And the MILLIONS of dollars spent let’s say Willy Nilly at the whim of these interesting folks Aka Romper Room."

A comment read, "In other words, he is "special' and beyond such treatment." Another user tweeted, "He’s gonna learn more in the next 7 weeks than what he has learned over the past 30 years!"

Another wrote, "He is the pudgiest vegan I've ever seen."  A user wondered, "Awe, don’t drop the soap Sammy." Another user commented, "Oh he's vegan, well that's great, he'll get to enjoy plenty of Vitamin D."

Another claimed, "I only eat cash and drink customer tears." A user explained, "The most Democratic argument I’ve ever heard tbh “Let me out because I’m vegan." Another claimed, "It’s awesome that part of his argument of why he can’t go to jail is because he’s vegan lol."
