NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: This week, 'Today' showvfans are not watching the program due to the absence of the popular Australian American broadcast journalist Savannah Guthrie. The 50-year star has revealed that she could not be present in her usual NBC Studios due to being bedridden with what she assumes to be flu. Besides 'Today' show, she also missed the annual Rockefeller Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 30 which was meant to be hosted by Mario Lopez, instead of Al, alongside Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Craig Melvin.

Guthrie recently shared a photo as proof of her high fever on her Instagram account and shared the unfortunate news with her fans. The pic showed her resting and swaddling in blankets while holding up the thermometer to the camera with a temperature that read over 101ºF. She wrote, "UGH - flu or something like it since Monday. I'm so sad to miss the tree lighting and TODAY," in her caption. She then added, "Hopefully it passes soon! Miss everyone."
