DUBLIN, IRELAND: Shane MacGowan's wife Victoria Mary Clarke thanked his fans for their messages of support as she offered a major update on the rocker's condition.

The 64-year-old lead singer of Celtic punk band The Pogues, whose festive anthem 'Fairytale of New York' has sold millions of copies, was reportedly rushed to hospital on Monday, December 5. Shane has been confined to a wheelchair since he broke his pelvis in a fall several years ago. The singer-songwriter fell and shattered his pelvis in 2016 and later fell and broke his knee -- tearing ligaments in his left knee in the process. He has never fully recovered from those injuries.
