Stephen Marlow clashed REPEATEDLY with neighbors before he shot and killed 4 in Ohio

According to the Dayton Daily News, Marlow graduated from the University of Kentucky in Lexington and lived and worked in Chicago as a trader from 2006 to 2018. He was living with his parents of late in a home on Haverstraw Avenue, which is one of the streets where some of the victims were found. One neighbor revealed concerning behavior by Marlow that allegedly took place while he was living with his family. "He'd holler at them and say, 'Keep the noise down, you're too noisy in this neighborhood,'" the man told the Daily News on condition of anonymity. He said he hadn't personally witnessed it but heard about it from others in the neighborhood. "They said he did that all the time. He'd holler at you if you were outside," he added.

Marlow had gotten off probation in February on aggravated burglary and aggravated menacing charges stemming from a July 2019 incident in Dayton, when he allegedly broke into a Damian Street home in Vandalia and threatened to harm a person with a weapon. Montgomery County Common Pleas Court records show that he was ordered to have a mental health evaluation at the beginning of his probation and was under intense supervision until December 2020. 

Police said Marlow was arrested on Saturday after an elderly couple and a mother and daughter were found shot to death in two separate homes. Authorities also obtained a haunting video Marlow purportedly shared after the shooting, alleging that he's a victim of "mind control" and referring to the shootings as "executions."

Butler Township Police Chief John Porter said officers discovered the victims of the shooting after responding to reports of shots fired just before noon on Friday, August 5. All the victims were declared dead upon arrival. The bodies of Eva and Clyde Knox were found in their home on Hardwick Place, while Sarah Anderson and her daughter Kayla were found dead shortly after. According to WHIO, 15-year-old Kayla, the youngest victim, was a student at Vandalia-Butler High School and was described as a "ray of light" by superintendent Robert O'Leary. Counseling will be made available to students who need them, O’Leary said in a statement.

Marlow was charged on Friday with four counts of aggravated murder in Montgomery County. The following day, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio issued a federal arrest warrant for the suspect after he was charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, according to the FBI. It was unclear at the time of publication whether Marlow will face more charges.
