Fans were rallying behind Donald when the MVP award was being announced and were left disappointed when Kupp was revealed as the winner. Even though fans were happy with their favorite team winning the coveted trophy, they wanted to see Donald win the MVP accolade.

 

One of the fans wrote, “Happy for Cooper Kupp, he’s an awesome guy and was fantastic, but Aaron Donald should have won the MVP.” Another user shared, “I think Cooper Cupp is a great player that played a good game. Aaron Donald not winning MVP is a head-scratcher though.”

 

 

“Aaron Donald not winning the Super Bowl MVP was the biggest MVP snub ever,” said one fan. “Not a fan of Aaron Donald at all, but that man was robbed of Super Bowl MVP. His leadership on defense kept the Rams from going into a huge hole in the 3rd quarter. Gotta respect it!” said another one.

 

 

Meanwhile, another fan noted, “Aaron Donald should have definitely been the MVP. Hell he was tripled team most of the game.” On the other hand, one fan asked the NFL why it is difficult for them to give an MVP trophy to a defender. He said, “Why is it so difficult to give MVP to the defensive players? Aaron Donald was the best player on the field tonight.”

 

 

“Can't say he didn't deserve it, but I think Donald should've won it. He made the play that ended the game plus had two sacks,” said another one. “SMH... Can't believe Aaron Donald did not get that MVP trophy,” wrote another fan.

 

During the post-match interview, Donald didn’t shy away from showing his emotions and had tears in his eyes while explaining what the win meant for him. He said, “I wanted this so bad. I dreamed this, man. I dreamed this. And it's like — it's surreal. It's the best feeling in the world. God is great. I'm at a loss for words. I don't know what to say. This is a blessing.”
