LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: All Susan Sarandon fans are sad today as Fox has reportedly canceled the actress' musical drama 'Monarch' after just one season. The musical family dynasty drama had opened to a massive opening, however, with time it didn't meet the channel's expectations. The show's eleventh, perhaps now the last episode, which aired on December 6, 2022, is the way Fox chose to bid adieu to the multigenerational music family drama series.

It is a little heartbreaking for the fans too as the channel positioned the series as its big gamble for the fall. However, it was the only new series on the timetable as it didn’t get the audience it needed to justify a renewal. Ratings fell hard after the Sarandon-heavy first episode. While things were sort of steady from there, critics ripped the show apart for being a Susan Sarandon project with very little Sarandon in it. The actress has been a big name in the industry since she started her career in the 1970s. We can assume giving the iconic star less screen time could be a reason for the decline of the audience.
