Drake reportedly spoke about the good times that he and Migos had while touring together, and celebrated their brotherhood by comparing the four of them to the Rat Pack, the famed group that consisted of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, Joey Bishop and Peter Lawford. Offset and Quavo's speeches reportedly left the audience in tears.

The event had taken place with free tickets being given, all of which were sold out. The audience was not allowed to take photos or use their phones. All electronic gadgets were taken away by ushers and locked away in pouches. The State Farm Arena, where the memorial was held, is the home ground to the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks. There was a big sign at the entrance, lit up with the words: Celebrating the life of Takeoff.

This event comes a day after the rapper's wake was held, with Cardi B, Offset, Quavo and a dozen others showing up. Page Six had reported that those present had been smoking and drinking at the wake to help deal with the stress. The rap group Migos was formed in 2008. Quavo was present at the scene of Takeoff’s death and was seen in a video screaming for help when the rapper was shot in the head.
