Freeform's most loved show 'The Bold Type' is set to return for its fourth season. Ever since it first premiered on Freeform in 2017, the show has grown on to become one of the channel's most loved and successful shows. With Wendy Straker Hauser as the new showrunner, the dramedy is set to return on January 23, 2020. Here is everything you need to know about the show.

Plot

'The Bold Type' is inspired by the life of 'Cosmopolitan' editor-in-chief Joanna Coles and follows three friends - Jane (played by Katie Stevens), Kat (Aisha Dee) and Sutton (Meghann Fahy). The show offers a glimpse into the outrageous lives and loves of those responsible for a global women's magazine, Scarlet. Their struggles are about finding one's identity, managing friends and getting their hearts broken, all the while exploring their outrageous lives in New York City and their sexualities, identities, love and fashion.

Katie Stevens as Jane Sloan

Before she starred as Jane Sloan on 'The Bold Type', Stevens was best known for finishing in the eighth place on season 9 of 'American Idol'. She has also starred as Karma Ashcroft in 'Faking It'. As Joan, Stevens plays the role of an aspiring writer at Scarlet Magazine, who lives with her best friend Sutton. 

Aisha Dee as Kat Edison
