'The Flash' Season 8 Episode 4: Are Thawne and Barry set for the ultimate showdown?

Episode 4 began from where the previous one left off. Everyone is shocked to see Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) as they believe that he is the reason behind all the bad things that’s been happening and he might be the reason behind Joe West’s death. When Barry tries showing everyone that he is The Flash, he comes out wearing the Reverse-Flash costume while Thawne comes out donning the iconic Red Suit, which means Thawne created a timeline where Barry is the villain and he is the hero.

Thawne also tells Barry how he changed the timeline and made sure that he is the fastest man alive. The entire scene was brilliantly shot and made us realize how helpless Barry is feeling right now. Although he could have won in a fight between him and Thawne, he didn’t want to risk that as he lost most of his powers during the heated exchange between him and Black Lightning. Even when everything is against him, he believes that Iris still loves him and tells Iris how Thawne has betrayed everyone. The power of love is one thing that the episode talks about. If you have the power of love, then you can move mountains or apparently change timelines to prove your innocence and save the world from destruction.

In the past few years, ‘The Flash’ has been criticized for pacing issues, but makers have made sure that fans won’t lose their interest this time around and kept the season short. That’s one reason why the show is doing so well and the episodes are so well-made.

The penultimate episode of ‘The Flash’ Season 8 is one of the best episodes in the show’s history and gave us moments that we’ll never forget. It perfectly sets up the finale next week and we can’t wait to see which new adventure Barry Allen and Team Flash will be going on.
