LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: There is no doubt that Tom Cruise is the biggest action movie star in the world today and the things he does to make his movies feel more authentic are spell-binding. The actor is known for doing his own stunts and doesn’t shy away from taking risks for his fans. But now, he has taken his “stunt” game to a new level as he wishes ‘Happy Holidays’ to all the movie-goers by jumping out of a helicopter. Yes, you heard it right. Cruise jumped off a helicopter just to wish us Happy Holidays.

Paramount Pictures uploaded a video on its official social media channels and YouTube in which Tom Cruise can be seen sitting inside an airplane. The video has been created to let viewers know that ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ is set to premiere on Paramount+ on Thursday, December 22. Even though it’s really a small thing for Cruise, he didn’t leave any stone unturned to let people know that this year’s biggest movie is finally coming to their home screens.

In the clip, the ‘American Made’ star is seen up in the sky getting ready to jump off a helicopter in South Africa and reveals that he is in the process of shooting 'Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One & Two’.  The clip continues with the superstar saying that he didn’t want to end the year “without” thanking the movie-goers for giving so much love to ‘Top Gun: Maverick’. He said, “I didn’t want the year to end without thanking you all for coming out to the theatres and thank you for supporting ‘Top Gun: Maverick’.”
As soon as he finishes the sentence, director Christopher McQuarrie taps him on his shoulders to remind him that they are getting late and need to get their shot. Cruise asks if he’s coming or not, to which, McQuarrie says that he is “definitely” not.

The actor jumps out of the helicopter and continues to thank viewers for giving him and all the members of the film industry the “opportunity” to entertain them before calling himself “very lucky.” The actor added, “Thank you for supporting ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ and thank you for allowing us to entertain you, it truly is the honor of a lifetime.”

The clip ends with the superstar running out of altitude while free-falling as the star wishes ‘Happy Holidays’ to everyone before drifting away. He concluded, “You have a very safe and happy holiday. We’ll see you at the movies.”

Fans were at the edge of their seats while watching the clip and couldn’t help but applaud the 60-year-old superstar. One of the fans said, “Every time I see this guy doing a mid-film stunt like he's 25yo I have more respect for him doing it as a 60yo. My dad is 60 and barely climbs the house stairs anymore.” Another fan noted, “Whatever you think of Tom Cruise, he is still such a superstar. Love it!” Another social media user tweeted, “The fact that Tom Cruise somehow doesn't have multiple Oscars by now is a crime. He's one of the few movie stars that literally willing to risk life and limb for the sake of entertainment.”
“Now that's how you promote a film. No one does it like Tom Cruise. You keep making them, we'll keep watching them!” wrote another user. “Living legend. You are the reason films should be watched on the big screen,” another fan tweeted.

This is not the first time Cruise has done an unnerving stunt to talk about his movies. In September 2022, he was seen sitting on a red airplane while shooting for the next ‘Mission: Impossible’ installments. The actor performed the stunt for giving viewers the exclusive first look at ‘Dead Reckoning – Part One’ at the CinemaCon.

As far as ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ is concerned, the movie is the highest-grossing movie of the year and was the first movie to cross the $1 billion mark at the box office. It is also the highest-grossing movie in North America with staggering figures of $718.7 million.
