NEW IBERIA, LOUISIANA: Unleashing catastrophic snow and wind, a slew of massive tornadoes struck the southern United States on Tuesday, December 13. The tornadoes also battered the state of Louisiana and left several Southport subdivisions of New Iberia severely damaged.

The fierce tornadoes also destroyed many mobile homes. Conner Darby, a 10-year-old boy, got trapped inside a mobile house alone during the harsh weather. He was inside the house on Bradley Lane with his mother Stephanie Suire until she decided to go down the street to check on her ailing father right before the storm hit.

“I get down the road and I see the tornado coming,” Suire told KLFY. In shock, Suire ran back to her residence and found Darby trapped inside with their pets, including four dogs, two turtles, and rabbits. "All I knew was my child was in there, I had to get to him," Suire said.
