Vladimir Putin reportedly falls down stairs at home amid speculations about his declining health

According to the account, Putin was walking downstairs when he “stumbled and fell to his back, after which he fell on his side and slid down a couple of steps. The incident took place in front of the president’s bodyguards, who reacted quickly and rushed to Putin’s aid. Three security officers helped the president to get to the nearest sofa and called the doctors who are on duty at the residence.” Medical personnel "arrived within a few minutes, but could not immediately examine the president," according to the channel, which claims to have sources in Putin's inner circle without providing any evidence, as reported by news.com.au.

He had "oncology of the gastrointestinal tract, as a result of which he already experiences serious problems with digestion," and the fall triggered an "involuntary" response. “Before the examination, the doctors escorted the president to the bathroom and helped to clean up.” The report said, “After a complete examination, a bruise of the coccyx and soft tissues was diagnosed.”

The bruises were treated with medications and no serious conditions were identified. It will be investigated what caused the "fall" to occur. “He wears special shoes, even at home, with anti-slip coating, and the stairs in the residence are considered ‘safe’. The whole complex of problems led the president to make a decision after the New Year to switch to the ‘self-isolation’ mode and spend most of the time in one of [his official] residences equipped with a so-called ‘bunker’.”
