NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The Brooklyn Nets has suspended 'Rookie of the Year' Kyrie Irving on Thursday, November 3, for a minimum of five games, claiming that after having a second press conference to discuss a contentious documentary, he had still refused to denounce his antisemitism. When asked if he has any antisemitic views during the brief media interaction on November 3, the 30-year-old Irving replied: "Again, I'm going to repeat, I don't know how the label becomes justified because you guys ask me the same questions over and over again. But this is not going to turn into a spin around the cycle, questions upon questions. I told you guys how I felt. I respect all walks of life and embrace all walks of life. That's where I sit."

Daily Mail reported that Irving claimed that he "cannot be antisemitic if he knows where he comes from" when asked for a more detailed response. Irving had shared a link to a documentary called ‘Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America,’ based on a 2015 book of the same name by Ronald Dalton Jr. Both the book and documentary have been criticized for their antisemitic message. The star guard finally expressed regret late Thursday night for posting a link to the antisemitic movie online after the Brooklyn Nets suspended him and the Anti-Defamation League turned down his $500k donation. Irving, as 'Rookie of the Year,' is one of the world's highest-paid athletes after signing a lucrative 4-year contract in 2019.
