LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Justin Edison, Megan Thee Stallion's former bodyguard and a crucial witness in the case against Tory Lanez, has "gone missing" prior to his scheduled court appearance. Lanez is currently being sued for assault after it was alleged that he shot Stallion in the foot in 2020. Edison was scheduled to testify in the case next week.

In a statement shared with TMZ on Saturday, December 17, Stallion’s attorney, Alex Spiro, confirmed the news. "We recently learned that Justin Edison went missing right before he was scheduled to appear in court," Spiro said, adding, "The LAPD is currently looking into his disappearance, and welcome any information about his whereabouts." However, Edison has not been listed as a missing person yet, a spokesperson for the department said. When asked if it was wrong to say the police were searching for Edison, the spokesperson said, "Yeah, because it makes him look sound like he’s a criminal."

According to Rolling Stone, Judge David Herriford was asked to issue a "body attachment," a warrant, for Edison, "signaling prosecutors had given up on calling him to the stand." Another source with knowledge of the situation confirmed that his attorney has not heard from him since Thursday, December 15. Despite not being present at the incident, it was reportedly said that he might know something about the night of the shooting. It was also reported that he went on record and allegedly said Lanez apologized to him for shooting the rapper and claimed that he was shooting at the ground when Stallion was wounded by accident.

Stallion's former friend Kelsey Harris allegedly sent Edison a series of text messages following the 2020 incident. Harris allegedly texted "Tory shot meg" and "help" to Edison. Harris, who was in the car with Lanez and Stallion at the alleged incident, testified in the trial against the Canadian rapper on Monday, December 12, in Los Angeles.

In response to allegations that he shot Stallion after the two of them left a party at Kylie Jenner's house, Lanez has entered a not-guilty plea. He is charged with negligent discharge of a firearm, assault with a firearm and illegal possession of a handgun.
