MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Whoopi Goldberg believes that the discussion on Twitter about Mel Brooks' 1974 satirical western movie 'Blazing Saddles' is going a little too far. 'The View' panelists had a conversation about how classic sitcoms would fare in 2022 after 'The Office' star Mindy Kaling speculated that the beloved series would be deemed "inappropriate" by the new-age audience.

When responding to people who believe 'Blazing Saddles' - a politician who employs a Black sheriff to supervise a troubled community - goes too far with its satire of racism, Goldberg particularly mentioned how the film dealt with racism. “It deals with racism by coming at it right, straight, out front, making you think and laugh about it, because, listen, it’s not just racism, it’s all the -isms, he hits all the -isms,” Goldberg said of Brooks’ film. “‘Blazing Saddles,’ because it’s a great comedy, would still go over today.”
