Leonard was arrested on Tuesday, December 6, on numerous felony counts after allegedly slashing himself with a knife and wounding two members of his family. He was accused of domestic battery with traumatic injury, aggravated assault, attempted strangulation, and felony injury to a child. In his past, Leonard has also been charged with 2nd-degree murder for the killing of a man in June 2007.

Leonard is now being detained on a $100,000 bail for the alleged attack on Tuesday. His arrest and subsequent harassment comes as the college town of Moscow remains focused on the unsolved murders of Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20. The police have stated that Leonard was not involved in any of those deaths, but the rumors haven't stopped because of that.

Leonard's wife said that her family continues to experience online harassment, including from a YouTuber (Jonathan Lee Riches INVESTIGATES!) who made claims about her husband's participation in the murders in a recent video with the headline, "James Curtis Leonard! SUSPECT. Moscow Idaho." The video has garnered 19k views in the last 3 days since it was first uploaded on Thursday.

"People on the internet are trying to pin the murders on him," Leonard's wife said. "I had to get off that social media s**t." She said that she was at home with him when the early-morning massacre on November 13 took place and that he went for work at 7 a.m. "I told police that we are tired of all the threats, harassment and allegations. Our family has been in danger because of all these false statements being made on the internet," she told Daily Mail.
