WASHINGTON, DC: It seems Hunter Biden is ready to play hardball after being at the receiving end of several Republican attacks over the years. Hunter's friends have reportedly advised the 52-year-old to take legal action for defamation in response to claims made against him by commentators and other GOP leaders.
According to a report by The Washington Post, Kevin Morris, a lawyer and close friend of Hunter Biden, revealed that the president’s son could file a lawsuit against Fox News, Eric Trump, Rudy Giuliani, and other critics for defaming him. Morris also said the legal team reviewed a wide range of options at a strategy session that was held in California in September. This included possible defamation lawsuits against right-wing organizations and people, such as Fox News, Rudy Giuliani, and Eric Trump, who have allegedly spread rumors about the president's son. Hunter Biden reportedly made a brief phone call to the meeting even though he wasn't there in person to contribute.

Several Democrat supporters on Twitter revealed their thoughts on the development as one person wrote, “Waiting for that, again Republicans have painted themselves in a corner. They will publicly defame Hunter Biden, this would be an attack on the 4th Amendment right to privacy. It will have consequences.” “Good! Defamation suits are in order..he's complying w the investigation on tax evasion and lying on his application to buy a gun. Everything else is a pure conspiracy...he's been investigated before, even by Trump's DOJ, and found nothing,” another added. “Excellent move Hunter. It must be done,” yet another user remarked.
The president's son's past troubles came to light after Twitter’s new CEO Elon Musk released a batch of internal emails last week describing the company's improper handling of a 2020 New York Post article pertaining to materials discovered on Hunter Biden's laptop. The emails showed that the Joe Biden campaign had contacted Twitter to request the deletion of multiple tweets mentioning the candidate's son. Further investigation by journalists revealed that these tweets contained sexually explicit images of Hunter Biden.
The White House has maintained that Hunter Biden is an inappropriate target for congressional investigations because he is a private citizen and has rejected GOP attempts to bring him down as a conspiracy. The administration also intends to participate little in any such probes while providing stronger backing for other prospective inquiries where they have a better chance of success.
Earlier, Ian Sams, the lead White House spokesman for oversight and investigations, revealed, "The president loves his son and is proud that he has overcome his addiction and is moving forward with his life. Congressional Republicans' politically motivated partisan attacks on the president and his family are rooted in nonsensical conspiracy theories and do nothing to address the real issues Americans care about."
