Fans of musical comedy-dramas might be missing shows like 'Glee' and movies like 'Pitch Perfect' on their screens, but NBC is about to bestow upon its viewers a late New Years' gift with a new show. Titled 'Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist', the musical fantasy dramedy will premiere on NBC in January.

Plot
The titular lead character, Zoey Clarke, is a very smart computer coder who lacks confidence and is trying to find success in San Francisco. When she goes in for a regularly scheduled MRI, the equipment malfunctions and Zoey now has the paranormal gift of hearing everyone's innermost thoughts and desires through popular songs. Though at first, she questions her own sanity Zoey soon realizes that this "curse" could be an incredibly wonderful gift in helping her win a promotion she is up for against a colleague. One of the things she learns is that her best friend Max is secretly in love with her.

Jane Levy is an actress best known for her roles in 'Suburgatory', 'Shameless', and 'What/If'. She plays the titular role of Zoey Clarke. Zoey is a computer programmer who lacks the confidence to go for what she wants. When she goes for an MRI that malfunctions, she is gifted with the ability to hear people's innermost thoughts and desires in the form of popular songs.
