MOSCOW, IDAHO: As the investigation into the Idaho student murders continues, social media is debating if cops are looking for the correct car model. Earlier, CCTV footage that was released on Fox News showed a blurry image of a white car passing through a nearby gas station in Idaho. Moscow Police Department believes the car is a Hyundai Elantra and contends the occupants may have crucial information about the tragic killings that took place on November 13.

However, several on the Internet argue that the blurred white car that was captured on a gas station's CCTV might not be the Hyundai Elantra that cops are looking for. One self-professed expert wrote in the comment section of Fox News, “The cops are looking for the wrong model of the car in my somewhat expert opinion. I have been in the automotive service business for 23 years and serviced 275k cars seeing more than my fair share of Hyundais. Furthermore, my 19-year-old daughter has driven a 2011 Elantra for the last 4 years.”

“The picture they keep showing is more in line with a Hyundai Accent or Kia Rio, not an Elantra. The headlight lines to the body/wheel well and read trunk/hatch area are not like an Elantra. I guess I need to call or email the tip line,” the person added. “The highway 8 gas station pic of the blurred white car is not a Hyundai Elantra. Been a mechanic for 40-plus years. Distance from the front bumper to the center line of the front axle is too long for an Elantra,” someone else claimed.
