KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster #9 was ruled out of Sunday's game, on November 13, 2022, at Arrowhead Stadium against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second quarter after entering the concussion protocol due to a head injury. Jaguars safety Andre Cisco smashed his helmet into Schuster’s helmet, who instantly went down on the ground and remained there for over five minutes. However, the hit was not penalized and this has left fans angry.

Talking to ESPN, Chiefs coach Andy Reid said, “As long as there's contact to the head, it doesn't need to be in the game. So it looked like there was contact to the head from where I was standing, but I'm not the one making that call." Referee Brad Rogers, who announced there was no penalty, said the contact was shoulder-to-shoulder and not subject to a penalty. To which, Reid added by saying, "He obviously was in pretty bad position there for shoulder-to-shoulder [contact]."
