Tiger Woods says his son Charlie, 13, is already outdriving him on the golf course, dishes swing advice

Speaking to Golf Channel from the Bahamas, where the Hero World Challenge tournament is being held, Woods opened up about his son's game. At one point during the interview, he was asked when he thought Charlie would start to outdrive him. His response was rather astonishing. "It's already happened," the 15-time major champion revealed. "He hit a drive at Medalist and got me by a yard."

Charlie, aside from out-hitting his legendary father, was also taking advice from him on how to approach his swing. "I told him, don’t copy my swing. Copy Rory’s," Woods reportedly said. "Have you ever seen Rory off balance on a shot? No. Not ever. You can swing as hard as you want on a shot, but you need to have balance," he added.

The younger Woods is definitely turning heads at just 13, having already swung a club 117 miles per hour according to Golf Channel's Paul Azinger. Woods is at the Hero World Challenge, but is not competing in the tournament. He was originally slated to join the 20-man field, but revealed on Monday, November 28, that he had developed plantar fasciitis in his right foot. "After consulting with my doctors and trainers, I have decided to withdraw this week and focus on my hosting duties," the links legend said in a statement.

That said, Woods hasn't given up on his future playing aspirations.“I was lucky enough to come back after my back fusion,” Woods said, adding, “Once I felt like I was good enough to say, well, I could actually do this, I rattled off three wins.” He added, “I can still hit the shots. If I can [walk], I can still compete with these kids. It’d be good to get one win, but I’d like to get a big one, too.” Woods has not competed in a professional tournament since July, when he missed the cut at The Open Championship at St. Andrews. Nonetheless, he believes he will be healthy enough to compete in the latest installment of 'The Match' taking place next weekend as well as the PNC Championship with Charlie scheduled the week after that, according to the Daily Mail.
